A place for Bonne Bell lovers around the world to share the fun, flavors and memories of the world's first and favorite flavored lip product, Lip Smacker, from 1973-2015 and the Bonne Bell brand from 1927-2015.
Flying, swinging, jumping into stores now is Lip Smackers newest power force partnership with Marvel Comics starting off with four of the most familiar heroes; Spiderman, Captain America, Hulk and Iron Man. We can expect to see many more Marvel characters joining the Lip Smacker line-up very soon with the Holiday 2016 collection nearing around the corner. (Can't wait to find out the rest of the holiday Lip Smackers!)
Spiderman - Web Swinging Licorice
Captain America- Red, White and Blue-berry Hulk- Sour Apple Iron Man- Invincible Chocolate
While none of these are new or innovative flavor-wise, I tend to think any partnership Lip Smacker does that's not with a beverage/candy/food company is not really concerned with flavor. As many know most Disney Lip Smackers are just original flavors recycled and this is definitely the case here. Web Swinging Licorice is the Red Licorice formula used since its relaunch in 2014, a cherry licorice flavor. Red, White and Blue-berry is just Berry Slush renamed which has been recycled quite a bit the last couple years as well. Sour Apple is just that- Sour Apple, same as the one launched in 2014 Vintage Party Pack. Invincible Chocolate is the same formula they use for the M&M's Lip Smacker.
Interestingly, I noticed a little bit of a numbing feel while using these that I never have gotten with Lip Smackers before. Another thing is the caps with these are too flimsy and feel cheap. These are part of the grab and go bins by the check out lanes which are a newer concept for Lip Smackers. These don't feel like regular Lip Smacker tubes and almost feel a little 'rushed' in my honest opinion. Noticed the same thing with the Frozen ones that are by the register too.
As we know Marvel branded lip balms aren't really anything new to the scene but are a first to the World of Lip Smackers. I am one who is much more interested in flavor partnerships with beverage/candy/food brands as Lip Smacker has always flawlessly executed the flavors to match their namesakes to a T, after all they are the 'Best Flavor Forever'. These are great for your collection, but if you're a Lip Smacker flavor connoisseur like me and expecting anything new flavor-wise, I don't think you're going to find that here.
These ARE made in the USA and were found by the register at Dollar General.
