The Peppermint Lip Smacker debuted for holiday 1976 in original Biggy-size and was quickly a favorite to the masses! Long before Burts Bee's, was the super-cooling, tingly and intense peppermint flavor of this iconic Lip Smacker. Peppermint was refreshingly sharp and guaranteed to put some pep in your step!
The original formula has stayed the same up until the 2014 'Flashback Favorites' 1970's trio, featured alongside Peach and Piece-a-Cake. It was very apparent the strong formula we knew and loved was very much absent and instead was an underwhelming soft vanilla mint which was not a fitting replacement. I still believe since this trio was released around the time of the sale of the brands it was overlooked. Nevertheless Bonne Bell were the originators of getting me hooked on minty flavors, all starting with my forever love, the Peppermint Lip Smacker.
Bonne Bell Peppermint lip gloss was always a favorite of mine. My bff gifted me the HUGE tube for my 16th birthday in 1978 and I held onto it all of these years. I since have owned many tubes of it but held onto my original. What I would give for them to bring it out in the huge size again so I can carry it with me everywhere and use it.
