Strawberry Kiwi Comet might be one of Bonne Bell's juiciest concoctions of the 90's and a perennial staple from the decade. Strawberry Kiwi Comet launched into the Lip Smacker universe in 1997 in the iconic Cosmic Lips collection and became an immediate super star!

Before I get too far ahead, Strawberry Kiwi actually made an appearance before its' Cosmic Lips fame in the Holiday 1997 collection. It was introduced as a limited edition flavor and dressed in an original tube wrap. The formula was exactly the same only sans the shimmer that the Cosmic Lips had.

Strawberry Kiwi Biggy, 2005

The Strawberry Kiwi formula with or without shimmer has been consistent and the fruitiest blend of the ripest strawberry and the sweetest kiwi wondrously fused together in Bonne Bell's magical flavor lab. In 2005, Bonne Bell solidified Strawberry Kiwi's iconic status by introducing the flavor in the quintessential Biggy .60 oz. size giving fans more of what we love.

Biggy vs. Holiday 1997 Strawberry Kiwi

Strawberry Kiwi was an instant favorite from the start and was introduced into many different Bonne Bell gloss forms over the years. It was included in the Smackers Roll-On Shimmer line and then the Liquid Lip Smacker line of clear glosses in 2003.  There were even limited-edition sets that included a Strawberry Kiwi Squeezy Lip Smacker and a Strawberry Kiwi Shimmer Squeezy Lip Smacker (both below) in special edition holiday sets.

Around 2004, the Cosmic line was revamped (why, idk) into a Super Star Shine theme that had inspirational sayings on the labels. Along with the revamp, the flavor names of the original Cosmic Lips line also changed.

Strawberry Kiwi was reintroduced in the Original & Best line up and became permanent in 2007. After this happened the Strawberry Kiwi shimmer formula only came out in limited edition Holiday collections sporting different special-edition labels, all with the same iconic Strawberry Kiwi Comet shimmer finish of course.

Original & Best Strawberry Kiwi even saw a few limited edition wraps in two different Valentine's Day collections (2011 pictured below). Much later the iconic flavor came in disguise in Disney collections, first with a Rapunzel label as Magical Glow Berry (shimmer) and then with an Ariel & Eric wrap as Strawberry Kiwi Kiss (not be mistaken with the Holiday 2003 Pet Pals name which was a new formula).

Strawberry Kiwi Comet was such a beloved flavor in the Lip Smacker line that Bonne Bell eventually introduced new iterations of the flavor in limited edition collections and even with their brand partnered flavors. The flavors were very different than Strawberry Kiwi Comet but just as delicious and juicy and I will eventually review them on here so stay tuned!
